An older den addition on a mid-century home in Albany was dark and windowless. However, the space was well-used as a music studio. In tandem with a new bathroom and kitchen expansion at the main living level so the owners could age in place, the den was converted to a true piano room with natural light on all sides. An archway connects the space to the dining room, and new French doors allow it to be opening to an outdoor audience.
