This 5-story mixed-use building just south of downtown Berkeley includes 82 residences, 2 live/work lofts, and a ground floor retail space. A variety of shared open spaces, private balconies and roof decks create an open and engaging environment for its residents to share in. Units are designed with views and flexibility in mind. The scale of the building is modulated by a series of undulating bays at the front façade, and features state of the art wood panels and steel siding. Steel-framed decks with ipe decking provide bay and hill views. The site planning focused on existing and future neighborhood development in this changing neighborhood, sensitivity to adjacent residences and commercial properties, while also providing a variety of housing types from live/work units to studios and 2-bedroom apartments.
