This formerly post-modern relic in the Uplands neighborhood in Berkeley was completely re-vamped to bring it out of the 80’s and into modernity. While the spatial layout of the home was working well for this family, the entry from the street and access to the outdoors was cramped and awkward. Post-modern turrets, arches, and tilework were also distracting features that gave the home a castle-vibe. This project created a more cohesive spatial experience and modernized exterior.
