The interiors of a classic Berkeley home were thoroughly renovated to accommodate the needs of a young family with small children and pets. The home had previously been laden down during previous renovations with small rooms, layers of exterior stucco and interior plaster, and the original features had been left in disrepair. This gut renovation re-thought the floor plan with modern living in mind, including an open, functional kitchen, home office, mud room, space for in-laws and casual dining. The exterior was painted a bright blue in honor of the family that originally cared for the home.
